What my trip to Ann Arbor reinforced...

This weekend we took our girls to Ann Arbor, stay overnight in a hotel, do some swimming. We also took them to the Michigan spring football game and experience Michigan Stadium.

They even got to go on the field...AND get Jim Harbaugh’s autograph!

So we all had amazing experiences and created great memories.

But, going on vacation (even a mini-vacation) often creates obstacles to health, especially the Food part.

Since we were in Ann Arbor, we went to the famous Blimpy Burger and indulged in greasy burgers topped with a fried egg on a kaiser roll...and washed it down with pop, French fries and onion rings.

To counteract the effects of those unhealthy choices, I gave my stomach a break until about 2:30 Sunday afternoon.

I had my superfood green powder with electrolytes in lemon water first thing Sunday morning…

And after church had my spinach-almond milk-turmeric-cinnamon-ginger-avocado-grass fed whey protein isolate smoothie.

It’s OK to indulge once in awhile or on special events.

I do, and I'm sure you do too.

But don’t turn every event into a special one to justify unhealthy choices.

And if you do indulge, just make up for it the next day…and probably the next day too;)
